Ellacor®

Ellacor® is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve moderate to severe wrinkles by physically reducing excess skin without surgery. Unlike laser treatments or microneedling, Ellacor uses Micro-Coring® technology to remove tiny columns of skin, allowing the surrounding skin to naturally tighten as it heals.

Before the procedure, the treatment area is numbed with a local anesthetic (lidocaine), similar to what is used at the dentist. Most patients report only minimal discomfort, with an average pain rating of about 2 out of 10.

During the treatment, the Ellacor device uses small hollow needles to create and remove up to approximately 12,000 microscopic full-thickness skin cores, reaching down to the fat layer. In total, about 5–8% of the skin’s surface area is removed in a precise, mathematical pattern. The device then vacuums away these tiny skin cores, leaving microscopic openings.

Within minutes to hours, the surrounding skin begins to pull together, and the tiny openings naturally close without stitches. Most healing occurs during the first three days, with initial recovery taking about one week, similar to microneedling. Patients typically only need simple wound care during recovery.

As the skin heals, it becomes tighter and smoother, helping soften wrinkles and improve skin texture. Because the treatment removes skin rather than relying on heat, it avoids thermal damage associated with many laser procedures. Best results are often seen over the following 2–3 months as collagen remodeling continues, and many patients benefit from a series of treatments depending on their goals and the severity of skin laxity.
